keypads, mobile phones have one thing in common: they all require sim
cards to function. SIM cards give mobile phones the ability to talk to
other people and other mobile functions. Mobile phones are basically useless
with these small cards.

companies (such as Netspectrum)
are working on a new generation of SIM cards that take advantages of the rich features
in recent phones and deliver multi-media, mobile web based services for
operators.
