Hi there, I'm Stefan.

I just bought an IBM Thinkpad R32 as replacement for my Thinkpad
X21, only to notice that I can't connect to my WPA-encrypted WLAN anymore.

The MiniPCI WLAN-part is of the following type:

        Intersil Corporation Prism 2.5 Wavelan chipset (rev 01)
        [PCI ID 1260:3873]

It is an IBM labeled Xircom Modem and Prism 2.5 WLAN on one card.

thanks to your site I managed to flash it to 1.7.4

just enough to get WPA working. I just wrote an entry in my (German)

Just a note in addition to my mail from July.

Some people asked me if the modem part of the "IBM
Prism2.5/Xircom Modem Combi-MiniPCI-Card" is affected
by a firmware upgrade to the Prism part.

Maybe you could add thet this is not the case, both
devices share the card physically, but besides this
they are totally independent.
