[begin included] hostap_diag wlan0 ... [end included] yielded the following output ... [begin included] Host AP driver diagnostics information for 'wlan0' NICID: id=0x800c v1.0.0 (PRISM II (2.5) PCMCIA (SST parallel flash)) PRIID: id=0x0015 v1.1.0 STAID: id=0x001f v1.4.9 (station firmware) [end included] downloaded the pk010101.hex and sf010704.hex files and then did a test run using the instructions provided on this [super fantastic fabulous amazing mega-way-cool thanks for taking the time to write all this up and saving me a lot of work] website. that command was ... [begin included] prism2_srec -v wlan0 pk010101.hex sf010704.hex [end included] that gave a lot of output that all looked ok to me. it was complicated and i didn't really know what it was saying so it was kind of blind faith when i did this command ... [begin included] prism2_srec -v -f wlan0 pk010101.hex sf010704.hex [end included] which also gave me a pile of complicated looking stuff i won't post here. then later i ran ... [begin included] hostap_diag wlan0 [end included] and got the following glowing report ... [begin included] Host AP driver diagnostics information for 'wlan0' NICID: id=0x800c v1.0.0 (PRISM II (2.5) PCMCIA (SST parallel flash)) PRIID: id=0x0015 v1.1.1 STAID: id=0x001f v1.7.4 (station firmware) [end included] it worked fine under kismet. the reason i wanted to flash the firmware in the first place is someone says it fixes packet injection and i wanted to be able to do that using the senao card. i haven't tested to see if it fixed it or not, sorry, because i know that would be useful information to know here. but the card does still work at least like it did, from my initial tests .. kismet works fine, etc.
