I've read your : Mini-howto on Flashing Intersil Prism Chipsets (Last update on 02/02, 2004) and I've found it very helpful. Thank you very much for your time!!!!!. Well , I have two prism2 cards to make 2 ap's and want the "hiding ESSID" feature ( I love to play with these toys too XD XD ) , so I decided to upgrade the firmware. The results ( at this moment) seem to be OK. The cards: - PRISM II (2.5) PCMCIA (SST parallel flash) -Senao NL-25511CD plus ext2 -NIC id = 0x800C v1.0.0 -PRI id = 0x15 v1.1.0 -STA id =0x1f v1.4.9 I upgraded successfully them to: -PRI id = 0x15 v1.1.1 and one to -STA id = 0x1f v1.7.4 and the other to -STA id = 0x1f v1.8.0 After that, I upgraded the v1.7.4 to v1.8.0 I used the prism2_srec to test and afterward flash the cards. I'm using an up-to-date Debian SID with kernel 2.6.7 and hostap drivers version 1.3.0 After upgrading the firmware I didn't received more kernel messages at boot referencing a bug in WDS in the card's firmware. Any day I'll try to flash an prism2 that comes with my linuxap ( SMC EZ Connect Wireless Bridge SMC2682CW ). I'll tell you too. Well, nothing more. If you have any question, please, mali me at ungolian@teleline.es Best regards and Thank you very much for your time again
