I followed Davin Potts' methodology .. used winXP to flash my linksys WPC11 v3
had the same firmware detection problems (was detecting primary 1.1.1
(ak010101.hex) and station 1.5.6 (rf010506.hex))
Used the v2.5 driver from linksys to solve the problem.

Queried firmware .. detected pf010100.hex and sf010402.hex.
Tried flashing to pk010101.hex and sf010800.hex ... winupdate was SMART enough
to say that pk010101.hex was not right for my card which is a 801A !!! I could
not see a way of finding out the componentID of the card before this in windows
(am i missing something ?)

Then tried flashing to pf010100.hex and sf010800.hex ...
it passed the winupdate check successfully .. and flash was successful.
Winupdate now shows the correct versions of the firmware.
