Now my Netgear MA311 and MA401 run fine with firmware 1.7.4 (actually there are already success stories about this cards on your webpage). But something that really confused me was that there are these a- and r-firmwares. After another (more intensive) reading of your webpage, i found out that these are the primary and the station firmware for ram downloads. Could you maybe make this information more visible? Actually i found a report on your website in which the author had a similiar problem and he killed his card because he didn't know/notice the difference between s- and r-firmwares (Ingo_Hoffmann_broken_card.txt): First he does a dryrun with the correct primary firmware and the (well) also correct station firmware (but for download to ram): # /tmp/hostap-utils-0.1.0/prism2_srec -v wlan0 /tmp/Intersil/1.7.4/pk010101.hex /home/imh/TXT/Firmware/WLAN/Intersil/1.7.4/rf010704.hex He doesn't get an error from prism2_srec, because the images are compatible with his card. On the next step he flashes his card (of course again with the wrong r-firmware): # /tmp/hostap-utils-0.1.0/prism2_srec -v -f wlan0 /tmp/Intersil/1.7.4/pk010101.hex /home/imh/TXT/Firmware/WLAN/Intersil/1.7.4/rf010704.hex which (of course) fails. Thanks again, Peter
