Mr. Jun Sun, I'd like to report a success story for your page. I have a Linksys WPC11 ver3.0 with an Intersil Prism 3 chipset. This is connected to a Gateway 600S laptop with a Texas Instruments PC1250 Cardbus controller. The card had primary firmware 1.1.0 and station firmware 1.4.2, as reported by the Linux orinoco_cs drivers. I rebooted my laptop to Windows XP Home and downloaded the Intersil Windows Firmware Update tool version 0.7.0. I also downloaded the 1.7.4 firmware package from one of the mirror sites listed on your page, which contained pk010101.hex (primary firmware 1.1.1) and sf010704.hex (station firmware 1.7.4). After saving a PDA from my card, I updated the card with these firmware files. SUCCESS!! Performance has improved noticeably, signal strength/link quality/noise levels as reported by orinoco_cs have stabilized, and the firmware is accurately identified by orinoco_cs. Performance is also improved under Windows XP, and so far there have been no problems with the card. Thanks for providing such an excellent resource for those of us who like to update our firmware. Sincerely, Brad Chapman __________________________________ Do you Yahoo!? The New Yahoo! Shopping - with improved product search http://shopping.yahoo.com
